Holy Name Parish School is excited to welcome back its basketball program!

The intent of this program is for kids to have as much fun as possible while learning the basic fundamentals of individual and team play.  The program also teaches the kids about pride in their school as they proudly wear their uniforms when the go on the road to play various schools.

All students in grades 1 -6 are eligible to play with teams broken into three divisions:

  1. 1/2 grade team
  2. 3/4 grade team; and
  3. 5/6 grade team

Depending on numbers, we may have more than one team per division.  Practice will be one night per week with games on Saturday or Sunday with an occasional Friday night game mixed in.

The teams will be co-ed although we may try to schedule some boys and girls only games at the 3/4 and 5/6 divisions as the season progresses with some of the other programs.

Each team will likely play six to twelve games during the season.  At this time, the other participating schools are all still finalizing their programs and registrations so there is no confirmed number of games yet.

Practice began on Friday, December 9th, and will continue every Friday, barring school vacations and games scheduled for Fridays until the end of March.

The practice schedule is as follows:

4 pm - 5 pm: 3/4 grade (whole division - both teams)
5 pm - 6 pm: 1/2 grade (whole division - both teams)
6 pm - 7 pm: 5/6 grade (whole division - both teams)
