The Holy Name Parish School Early Childhood Program has exceeded all of our expectations. We both had access to outstanding Catholic grammar schools ourselves when we were children and we feel blessed to be able to provide the same opportunity to our son. Holy Name is clearly preparing our son to be successful in education and in life.
Great schools come from great educators and great systems. Holy Name has both. We have been consistently impressed by teachers’ abilities to balance rigorous academics and high expectations for student behavior with a real warmth and in-depth personal knowledge of all of its students as children. Mrs. Buckley, Early Childhood Center Director, and the school’s educators work exceptionally hard. As nearby neighbors of the school, we often see the lights on well after dismissal and on weekends. This work ethic and level of detail is evident in the amazing work our son does each day, and the tremendous progress he made last year in everything from socialization to the alphabet, music, math, art and science. His successes and love for learning are a tribute to his former and current teachers at the school, who consistently show a real commitment for their craft and their students.
As an organization, Holy Name Parish School runs seamlessly. We have access to an abundance of information regarding school events and opportunities through an online portal, regular newsletters, and helpful flyers and announcements that come home daily in our son’s folder. The orientation process and logistics are carefully communicated and reinforced by school staff and special events—such as the Halloween parade, Christmas concert, Grandparents’ Day and other family oriented events—are joyful and organized. Parents are always welcome and are treated as valuable resources for this special community.
We could not imagine our son, or any other child, in a better school. We are grateful to be a part of the Holy Name family.

As we move on in life, we’ll find that not every school makes a strong effort to teach their students about kindness and love. We are lucky to be such a nice school with a friendly community. Gr. 6 student

Thirty-seven years ago, I sent my oldest daughter to Holy Name Parish School and this year, my youngest grandchild began Nursery school at the Early Childhood Center. As a mom and a nana, I feel so proud that all the children in my family are attending Holy Name Parish School. At Holy Name, the teachers and administration know parents and students on a first-name basis. The school offers so much more than just its strong academic program. Our oldest granddaughter is in her freshman year at college and still speaks of how much she valued her education at Holy Name. The children also learn about life values such as generosity, patience and kindness. My husband and I do drop-off and pick-up, and the children look so forward to school. At pick-up, they are excitedly telling us all about their school day. They all enjoy the extra-curricular activities Holy Name offers. They are making many new friends and thriving in their education. I truly believe as a mom and grandmother that Holy Name has made our children and grandchildren into the wonderful adults and young adults they are today.

We are very pleased with the education our 5-year-old son is receiving at the Holy Name Parish School Early Childhood Center. Our son began in the ECC's Nursery program and is now in KI. In the last couple of years, I have seen him grow and thrive in the nurturing and structured environment of the ECC. Our son comes home singing songs, telling stories about his friends and activities at school, and brings home assignments and crafts that exemplify all that he is learning. The ECC director, all of the teachers and assistants are exceptional. From the moment we entered the ECC environment, we sensed our child would receive a solid educational foundation from a team of experienced, motivated and caring professionals. Our son is learning the early basics such as letters, colors, words and reading, and is also learning about sportsmanship, socialization and how to be a good person to others through the core Christian values that are the framework of an HNPS education. We are fortunate to have found the HNPS ECC and would highly recommend it to others that have young early school-age children.

As a member of the founding kindergarten class at Holy Name Parish School, I was excited to have my daughter start school at the Early Childhood Center this year. The faculty and staff have been warm, competent and approachable. I am also very impressed with the structure of the curriculum and blend of daily activities. My daughter comes home each day with a smile on her face, singing new songs she has learned and telling us about her day. We could not ask for a better community than Holy Name!

Our son is new to the Holy Name Parish School Early Childhood Center and we couldn't be happier with the program. The school and its teachers have exceeded our expectations in so many ways. Our son's development in and out of the classroom is very noticeable. He is excited to go to school each day, and comes home eager to practice what he was taught. The staff is friendly and passionate about encouraging growth and learning in their students. You can see that the children are happy and genuinely loved here. We look forward to watching our son grow emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually for many years to come. Elizabeth and Sean Ryan, parents

For the past four years, both of our children have had the great opportunity to attend Holy Name Parish School. During this time, our son and daughter have grown and developed immensely. We have had our daughter at Holy Name for the past four years and she is now in Gr. 1, and our son is currently in KI. One of the aspects that we love most about the school is that your children are able to progress from Nursery to Gr. 6 without changing schools. We have seen firsthand just how much the teachers go above and beyond to not only provide the students with the best possible education, but also provide a positive and nurturing environment for the children during those important first years of school. Another great aspect is the sense of community that Holy Name provides. From the Daddy/Daughter Dance and the Craft Fair to the school plays, Holy Name provides a number of outside-of-school activities that build that great sense of community we have come to know and love. These are just a few examples of why we would recommend Holy Name School to anyone, including our friends and family.

When I look back on my childhood, some of my fondest memories are from my years at Holy Name Parish School. I loved being a student there. The teachers were always so kind and taught me in a way that I loved to learn. I believe my experience at Holy Name is what made me pursue Elementary Education in college. When I had my own children, I wanted Holy Name as their school as well. My son is in KII and my daughter is in the Nursery program. While I am very impressed with what they are learning academically, I am equally impressed with what they are learning socially as well. They are learning values and the importance of being good people. I enjoy being a part of the morning assembly and I walk away knowing that they are in wonderful hands for the day. As a mom, there is no better feeling. Holy Name Parish, the parents, staff and children have become like an extended family. There is such a strong sense of community there. My husband and I are so thrilled that our children are at Holy Name.

When I became a new mom, there was one thing I knew for sure: I wanted my children to attend Holy Name Parish School. I attended Holy Name and have so many wonderful memories. As a young child, I remember how kind the teachers were. The teachers were always willing to help with whatever I needed. My children are now students in the 1st and 4th grades there, and they absolutely love Holy Name and take such pride in being students there. Every year they seem to have the best teacher ever. The teachers are fabulous with the children. The school day begins with morning assembly of prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, birthday announcements, and important school news and events. My children are also involved in after-school activities such as Drama, Cooking Club and Sports O’ Rama. They have made so many wonderful friends and are learning the importance of values. As a family, we really enjoy going to Holy Name events during the year.

Our daughter started at Holy Name Parish School by attending the Nursery program in the Early Childhood Center. We chose the program because it is a well-rounded program that allows children to develop their social skills through peer play, focuses on early education and instills core values. The Nursery and KI programs truly laid the foundation for Kindergarten. When we first visited the school, Mrs. Buckley told us that by the time kids who went through their programs started Kindergarten, they were either reading or ready to begin reading and she was right. Our daughter is in Kindergarten this year and she is starting to read, which she is very excited about. Our experience with the ECC has been a positive one—and a large part of that was due to the teachers and Mrs. Buckley. Nursery Teacher Mrs. Hardiman is a fantastic educator, and I knew our daughter was in good hands when I dropped her off every morning. Eby and Will Dorcena, parents

When we first began researching school options for our then-3-year-old daughter, Holy Name Parish School clearly rose to the top of the list. As members of the parish we were familiar with the existence of the school, but our first visit during an open house made us realize what a warm sense of community is established with the students. We loved the school and never looked back, enrolling our second daughter in Nursery and planning to enroll our third next year. Our children thrive at the school, never dread going in the mornings, and come home full of stories of the wonderful adventures they had and valuable lessons learned. The teachers challenge our children to be academically strong, to grow their curiosity, develop social skills and grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith. The school teachers strive to be on top of the curve, introducing our children to technology as a teaching tool but also maintaining a strong focus on the fundamentals of education. As transplants to Boston without any family in the area, the Holy Name parish and school has become our family, with our children having a sense of feeling part of something special.

We have recently transferred our children to Holy Name Parish School and are delighted with our decision. Our daughters have flourished in the Holy Name environment—both academically and spiritually. And, we are thankful to the faculty, staff and support systems for that positive atmosphere and the warm welcome our family received.

We chose Holy Name Parish School because we wanted an environment where our children are taught the same values we teach at home and where they are challenged academically. The teachers at Holy Name are dedicated to teaching and caring about our children; and our children are dedicated to learning and love going to school knowing that they are safe, respected and cared about.
Holy Name has exceeded our expectations. We currently have three children at Holy Name and are so pleased that their curriculum continues to provide a personalized learning environment.
The school has been an incredible experience for our family. The standard of academic excellence and the emphasis on moral and character development has far exceeded our expectations. Our children have not only been challenged academically but have learned life skills they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
It is truly a special place. You feel the warmth as soon as you enter the front doors. My children are extremely happy, and I have seen them grow emotionally, physically and educationally over the years. At Holy Name, everyone who interacts with the children genuinely cares for them and treats them as if they were their own. Holy Name Parish School has truly been a blessing to our family!

Attending Holy Name was a real privlege. I thank my late parents for making the decision - and financial sacrifice - to have sent me there, beginning in the First Grade. The Sisters of St. Joseph as well as the lay teachers and staff were instrumental in providing me with the fundamentals of learning that enabled me to be successful in high school, college, and professional life. I have fond memories of my time at Holy Name and wish everone at the school continued success and God's blessings. Francis Creedon, graduating class of 1969
Catholic education is an investment worth making! My parents had the foresight to send my three brothers and I to a Catholic school to begin our education. When my husband and I were blessed with four daughters, there was no question that we would continue the "tradition" and enroll them. We recently retired and relocated to Boston to help with our grandchildren, the third generation, who are attending Holy Name Parish School.
When you select a school for your children you hope for a well-rounded experience. You want them to excel in their schoolwork, make friends and participate in extracurricular activities and most of all strengthen their faith. The foundation that carries them into their adult lives will be shaped by the dedicated priests, nuns, administrators, teachers and staff. So why not select the best? Holy Name exceeds all expectations. Our grandchildren are challenged everyday and we are very proud of what they are accomplishing academically and also the way they are growing spiritually.Deborah and Martin Linendoll, grandparents
